Tippy enjoyed "7 Pounds"

I am glad that I had the chance to check out this film. If you are an avid movie watcher, (you know I am) then put this flick on your list to go see. I won't write too much because I don't want to ruin it for anyone.

Will Smith stars as Ben Thomas, a suicidal IRS agent with a fateful secret. He will change the lives of seven strangers.

Also in the film are Rosario Dawson, Woody Harrelson, and Michael Ealy. Will Smith handpicked Ealy for the role of the main character's young brother. Connor Cruise, the 13-year-old adopted son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, was cast in his first role as a younger version of Ben Thomas.

Will did his "thang" in this movie. This could have been a silent film and I would have understood his pain just from looking at his face. So impressed!

Make sure you have your popcorn and candy ready (I had jellybeans) because with this flick, you really need to pay attention. If you are not careful, you will get lost. It may not be the merriest movie for the holiday season but it will have you thinking.

7 pounds will be released tomorrow at a theater near you!

"Intuition" much better than "Unpredictable"

In 1994 Jamie released his first CD entitled "Peep This". The CD was great and probably one of the most slept on. After making me wait for almost ten years, he puts out "Unpredictable". What a let down that was. (Well at least for me it was.) I wanted to hear Jamie sing. Really sing. What I got was Jamie imitating Tank. I hated it.

When I found out Jamie was back in the studio, I could care less. Yeah, he's an excellent actor and comedian but I was no longer interested in him singing if he was not going to showcase his voice. Reluctantly, I listened to "Intuition". He automatically got a gold star from me because I did not hear one Tank-influenced song!!

The first single "Just Like Me" reminds me of "Touch my Body" and that Nelly song he did with Kelly Rowland. Cute song, but I love the video. Taraji Henson was a good choice for the leading lady.

I like 9 out of 15 songs. These days that is a rarity. "Why" is a stand out song as well as "I Don't Know" it has a Marvin Gaye feel to it. Shika would really like that one.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like "Intuition much better than Unpredictable".

I don't understand.......

Is that Quincy Jones in the new Jimmy Choo ad? Someone help me. I'm not sure of the connection.

Great Book! I was captivated for 3 hours. Antoinette did such a wonderful job that I could not put it down. I recommend this book to women aged 18 and up.

You can order this book from Amazon.com. This would make a great gift for the young female who may be heading down the wrong path. She will enjoy the book so much she may not even realize that she is being ministered to.

American Music Awards

I really don't know what to say about the show....It was decent at best. I spent a lot of time forwarding through majority of the show.

Neyo's performance was okay. The best aspect was the live horns. The horns made "Miss Independent" sound better than the original version.

As usual Kanye West wanted to stir up something. This fool said he wants to be Elvis.

Annie Lennox received the "Award of Merit." She is still looking good. I'm sure you remember Eurythmics. I loved almost every song. That was when MTV only played music videos.

My personal disdain for Alicia Keys almost made me miss Queen Latifah's performance. What a surprise! She looks just as good as she sounds. She was definitely on point even though her mic was not on at first. Her glam squad put in work and it paid off tremendously! Love it! Can't forget Kathleen Battle, her voice is amazing.
Overall the performance with all three women was excellent. They performed Alicia's version of Superwoman.

My girl Pink did a great job last night. She looked great too. She performed twice. One solo and the other a duet with Sarah McLachlan. The duet was beautiful, it gave Pink a chance to showcase her voice to those who do not that she can blow. The only drawback to the song is that I kept thinking about the abused animals in the world.

(Sarah's song "Angel" is featured in an ASPCA commercial)

What's up with Tocarra? Was she trying to channel Lucy Ricardo? I am not feeling that look.

It is 3:30am and I'm just getting ready to watch the AMA's. (DVR=great invention) For those that know me, I LOVE watching award shows. For some reason this one slipped my mind. Thank you Shika for sending me a text and reminding me. The award shows have not been the greatest lately. I wonder if there will be anything on the show worth me writing about. Stay tuned.

I miss Ne Ne already! ATL Housewives-The season is over

Ne Ne is my favorite housewife!

Did you know about this???

I was watching an episode of CSI: NY and learned something new. One of the clues to solve a crime was a partial "qr code". They showed how to use a qr code enabled cell phone to unscramble the code. The code is linked to a specific website. Ok, maybe I am not explaining this well.

I also found this definition....A QR Code is a matrix code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. QR Codes are common in Japan, where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional codes.

Single Man dances to SINGLE LADIES

I know this video has been around for a month. I also know that it has been on TMZ. I just can't get enough of it! Mr. Shane is doing his thing.

Shane is the "fierce" one.

WTF!

Somebodies is the first scripted sitcom presented by BET. I tuned in knowing this show will fill a much needed void. Black sitcoms are scarce and it will stay that way if crap like this is presented to the masses. I watched the first 15 minutes and it was 15 minutes too long. I felt like I was watching a really bad B movie.

Scooter is back!

Well, his real name is Cress Williams, but I will forever love him as his character "Scooter" on Living Single.

He is the latest addition to one of my favorite shows Prison Break. He is a killer! Literally. It took me a minute to get used to this cold-blooded assassin.

This season started great! I was unsure how they were going to keep me interested since they are no longer in a prison and the show is named Prison Break. Anyway, the writers did a great job keeping me intrigued.

If you are not a fan, you should be. Monday nights on FOX

Happy Birthday, Prince!

Today, the baddest rocker around, celebrates his 50th birthday.
Prince is a prolific artist, having released several hundred songs both under his own name and with other artists. Known to be a perfectionist, Prince is highly protective of his music. He produces, composes, arranges and performs nearly all of the songs on his albums. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Jordin Sparks - THAT DRESS?!?!

I love everything about Jordin except that dress she wore on the '08 AI finale.
I searched for a picture but I had to settle for the video.
I have seen her in some of the most size flattering outfits but, for the life of me I can't figure out what was the motive behind this dress.
Anyhoo, she is still one of my favorites. Fire your stylist girl!

Did Katt Williams let the "katt" out of the bag!

On Friday, May 9, Katt Williams was a guest on "The View".

During his interview he was asked how did he feel about Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon getting married. His answer was " I was blown away, I felt so strong, when I heard it , like anything can happen, like I felt when Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri got married, I felt like you can almost do anything these days, anything can happen."

Now of course that was a funny answer but, Did Janet and Jermaine REALLY get married or was that just a slip of the tongue? If that was the case, it wouldn't surprise me. Just think of how secretive B and J were.

Family of Comedy

I was looking up pictures of Monique and came across this. I just LOVE this pic. Makes me feel all warm inside!
I'm assuming they took this pic after working on "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins".
Oh yeah, I really liked the movie too.

Sad day for Tippy

I know I am late but, I just found out that Mario was sent home.

Yep, he was voted off ABC's Dancing With The Stars. I was able to catch all of his performances and enjoyed them all. I just love the way he moves! Well, I'm done watching that show. He was the only reason why I endured. Great Job, Mario!

I love "The View"

I just had to let this out.

Just random old thoughts that I need to let out. For the past 9 or so years, I have been an avid watcher of "The view". I've watched intently while they change hosts, change sets, hairstyles etc. You name it and I noticed it.

Being a fluffy lady, I gravitated to Star Jones. I wanted to see what she was wearing, how her hair was styled and did they apply her make-up correctly. I had a feeling her end was near when she kept talking about that damn wedding. (Which is ending after only 3.5 years?)

The show went downhill after her departure. When R.O. was given a seat and the show was hard to watch. Glad she is gone! I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd are the new additions and I'm loving life. Whoopi keeps the group in line. I hate to use this term but she "keeps it real". (Ouch, that hurt me to say that.) Whoopi pretty much says the things I would say if I was on the show. Sherri is still trying to find her place, but she is doing very well. Joy is cool. I like her more now that Star is gone. I could sense that Joy was not feeling Star at all. You could see it all over her face. Elizabeth. I almost want to call the girl racist. I think she walks around with blinders on. Her Obama bashings must come to an end. She has pissed many people off including her co-hosts. I hope she has security.
